Triple Appointment At KKR To Expand Firm's Indonesian Division

Three appointments have been made at investment firm KKR in its Singapore office to help grow its Indonesian offering.

Three appointments have been made at investment firm KKR in its Singapore office to help grow its Indonesian offering.

Jaka Prasetya, Rahul Bhargava and Allan So’s appointments came into effect as of yesterday.

Prasetya joins as managing director and will take charge of KKR’s Indonesian efforts, in conjunction with the firm’s private equity, credit and special situations team. He will also take responsibility for the firm’s credit and special situations initiative for Southeast Asia.

Bhargava and So both join as directors and will support Prasetya in his running of KKR’s Southeast Asian credit business.

The trio all move from Leafgreen Capital Partners, which Prasetya founded and previously served as its managing director. Bhargava and So held the roles of managing directors and partners.  Leafgreen is a provider of mezzanine and structured growth funding in Southeast Asia, predominantly focusing on Indonesia.

"Indonesia continues to be a dynamic market for investment with great growth potential and positive demographics driving opportunities. With our first deal in the market in 2013, we look forward to exploring new opportunities to provide both equity and credit solutions to companies to suit their long-term needs," said Ming Lu, member and co-head of Asia private equity at KKR.

Before launching Leafgreen in 2011, Prasetya served as managing director and head of principal investments Asia at Raiffeisen Bank Internaional, and has held senior management posts at United Fiber System and Deutsche Bank. Bhargava spent 12 years at Henderson Global Investors, where he helped to found its Asian private equity business. So has previously held structured-credit responsibilities at firms such as Societe Generale, Calyon, JP Morgan and Centre Solutions in Hong Kong.
