UK Asset Manager Appoints Head Of Distribution For Korea

Schroders Korea has appointed a new head of distribution to replace MY Choi.

Schroders Korea, the wholly-owned subsidiary of UK-headquartered Schroders PLC, has appointed a new distribution head.

With effect from 12 May 2014, Young Soo Kim replaced Choi Man-Yeon as head of distribution following the latter's departure at the end of March. Choi left to become the country head for Korea at BlackRock, as previously reported.

In this Seoul-based role, Young will be responsible for the management of the sales and marketing functions of the intermediary and institutional businesses.

Before Schroders, he was the chief marketing officer at East Spring Investment and, before that, held a similar role at Macquarie-IMM Investment Management. He brings almost 30 years of experience in investment sales and marketing to the firm.

Schroders opened a representative office in Korea in 1994 and in 2001 was incorporated as an independent investment management company.
