US Investment House Drives Asia Expansion With Hong Kong Senior Hire

This publication brings the latest news of moves and appointments in the Asia-Pacific region.
New York-based investment banking advisory firm Evercore has hired Yong Seok Lee to its Hong Kong office as part of its private funds group team. The hire comes as part of the firm’s expansion drive in the Asia-Pacific region.
According to the global head of Evercore’s private funds group, Richard Anthony, the company needed someone to help South Korean investors reach their desired investment outcomes.
“Korean LPs [limited partners] are shifting towards global alternative investments at a rapid pace, and at the same time, they are demanding access to more high quality investment opportunities across private equity, real assets, and credit,” Anthony said.
Lee will cover limited partners and general partners in the Asia-Pacific region, focusing on South Korea. Specifically, he will help Asian clients build their private markets portfolios.
He joins from UK-based Campbell Lutyens, where he was a founding member of its Hong Kong office. Lee brings over 15 years of experience in financial markets, working in Seoul, Hong Kong and New York.
Evercore serves clients from 28 offices in North America, Europe, South America and Asia, with more than $13 billion in assets under management. The investment banking advisory firm plans to continue its international expansion.
