Eric Sturdza Investments has launched its Strategic Vietnam
Prosperity Fund.
Shasha Li Mafli, who will manage the fund, has more than 20 years of experience managing Asian investment portfolios, including a track record of consistent performance in Vietnamese equities, the firm said in a statement yesterday.
Structured as a UCITS fund, the entity caters to professional and institutional investors seeking exposure to Vietnam.
The rollout of the fund is part of a trend of international firms seeking to tap into the Southeast Asian country’s economic growth, making it one of the more vigorous emerging markets in recent years. Vietnam benefits from the trend in China, and globally, for outsourcing supply and production, and a relatively young and educated population. (Main picture is of Bangkok.)
“Vietnam is at a sweet spot in Asia, growing strongly with many of the prerequisite factors in place for economic expansion as it urbanises and industrialises,” Shasha Li Mafli said. “We think that the country is positioned to enjoy the kind of growth that China has experienced over the past 15 years.”
Eric Sturdza Investments, headquartered in Guernsey, is part of the Geneva-based Eric Sturdza Group, which incorporates a private bank, a family office and a wealth management company.
