The Hong Kong virtual bank said it is distributing semi-liquid
funds from two large asset managers, supported by its digital
platform and in-person wealth services.
Ping An Digital Bank, a Hong Kong virtual bank, has begun offering private fund products to wealthier clients. The bank said in a statement late last week that this makes it the first digital bank in the city to enter high-end wealth management.
The bank is distributing semi-liquid funds managed by JP Morgan Asset Management and Aberdeen Investments. Clients can invest through its online platform, which includes analysis and trading tools, or through dedicated in-person wealth management services. The bank did not disclose minimum investment levels or the number of funds available.
The move builds on the bank’s wealth management launch in March 2026. Chief executive Ronald Iu said the bank has since seen strong client demand for diversified asset allocation.
The launch comes as Hong Kong’s wealth sector is growing rapidly. According to the Securities and Futures Commission’s Asset and Wealth Management Activities Survey 2025, total assets under management (AuM) in the city rose 20 per cent year-on-year to HK$42.2 trillion ($5.4 trillion) by the end of 2025.
