Janus Henderson
London-headquartered asset manager Janus Henderson has just launched its first active exchanged-traded fund (ETF) in Europe: the Janus Henderson Tabula Japan High Conviction Equity UCITS ETF (JCPN).

This active ETF, which draws on the firm's expertise in Japanese equities, provides investors with an alternative way of accessing its knowledge and insights in this market.

The fund will adopt a high conviction approach and invest in an actively managed all-cap concentrated portfolio of 20 to 30 holdings, providing exposure to companies which will benefit from structural themes and trends in the Japanese equity market, the firm said in a statement.

This active ETF represents a milestone for Janus Henderson: it includes a UCITS ETF wrapper which allows it to cater to client demand globally, the firm added. It builds on the its active ETF proposition in the US where it is the fourth largest provider of actively managed fixed income ETFs.

“This launch marks the beginning of our journey; we are poised to introduce a series of active ETFs over the next 12 months, each of which will cater to a different customer need,” Lucas Klein, head of EMEA and Asia Pacific equities, said.
