Partners Group, SCB Asset Management
Swiss-based global private markets firm Partners Group, which has more than $174 billion assets under management, has partnered with SCB Asset Management, a large asset manager in Thailand with around $62 billion in assets under management.

The partnership marks Partners Group's first entry into the Thai market with a feeder fund, and the first partner for the firm's royalties evergreen in Asia. As a result of the agreement, SCBAM's network of local partner banks and their private wealth clients will gain access to Partners Group's cross-sector royalties evergreen fund.

Partners Group’s cross-sector royalties strategy invests across several sectors, including pharmaceuticals, music, broader media and entertainment, and energy transition, amongst others. it uses different investment structures, such as purchasing existing royalties, creating of new royalties, and lending against royalties. Partners Group, which is an active investor in royalties, has made 15 investments in the last 12 months.

“We take a cross-asset, relative value approach to royalties investing, which we believe is unique in the industry,” Stephen Otter, head of royalties, Partners Group, said. “As part of this strategy, we shift between sectors and structures depending on what offers the best opportunities at a given point in time. Individual investors in Thailand will gain immediate exposure to our global royalties portfolio, alongside institutional investors, that is designed to deliver consistent returns through market cycles.”
