Who's Moving Where In Wealth Management? – Manulife, Bank Of Singapore

The latest moves, appointments and personnel changes in the Asia-Pacific region's wealth management sector.

Manulife
Manulife Investment Management (Hong Kong), part of Canada-headquartered Manulife, has appointed Calvin Chiu as CEO.

Chiu will continue to serve as head of retirement, Asia, Manulife.

“Hong Kong continues to be a key market in driving the growth of our global wealth and asset management business, with our well-established setup serving a diverse and increasingly affluent population in the city with sophisticated investment needs,” Fabio Fontainha, head of wealth and asset management, Asia, Manulife, said. 

Chiu, who joined Manulife in 2010, has served in several senior roles across the organisation. Earlier in his career, he was based in Manulife’s Toronto HQ. 

Bank of Singapore
A long-standing private banker in Asia, covering the Singapore and Malaysia markets, has left Bank of Singapore, this news service can confirm.

Fanny Khng has resigned and is on gardening leave, BoS said when asked by WealthBriefingAsia about the matter.

The banker will leave the firm – part of OCBC – on 9 October this year, a spokesperson said in a statement.

According to her Linkedin profile, Khng had worked at BoS since Janary 2018 and, before that, she was at UOB from July 2015 to January 2018. From October 2007 to June 2015, she was a director at UBS.
