Inc, a provider of independent investing insights, has
appointed Shihan Abeyguna (pictured) to the newly-created role of
managing director, Southeast Asia.
This is in addition to Abeyguna's role as head of business development, Asia and regional leader, Southeast Asia. He will still report to Julie Willoughby, head of global sales at Morningstar.
In this expanded leadership role, Abeyguna will collaborate across business units to drive growth in Southeast Asia, bringing together Morningstar’s extensive range of investor solutions in analytics and research.
“Abeyguna will step into the leadership position to further strengthen Morningstar's presence in Southeast Asia and to provide business insights that inform our strategic development,” Willoughby said.
Abeyguna has worked for over 15 years at Morningstar in leadership roles in product, strategy, and sales. He started his tenure with the firm at its Chicago headquarters, where he worked as a product manager responsible for the development of financial software solutions.
Abeyguna holds a bachelor’s degree in economics and computer science from Grinnell College and a master's degree in business administration from the University of Chicago Booth School of Business.
