The latest senior moves in the North American wealth management sector.

RBC Global Asset Management
RBC Global Asset Management, part of Royal Bank of Canada, has appointed Donald Sanya (pictured) as head of US institutional sales.

Sanya will lead all US distribution efforts for RBC GAM’s US business. The role is a newly-created one and Sanya is based in Boston, Massachusetts.

He will continue to report to Mike Lee, head of North American Institutional at RBC GAM, the firm said in a statement.

Since joining RBC as an institutional salesperson in 2014 from BlackRock, Sanya has taken overall leadership for the US institutional sales team as well as US consultant relations and institutional portfolio managers.

Raymond James
Raymond James has brought in financial advisor William Anderson to join its independent advisor channel. 

Anderson owns SW Anderson Financial in Salt Lake City, Utah. He is also joined by office manager Emily Rodarte. Among the clients are high net worth individuals and families, business owners, women investors and pre-retirees. Anderson was previously affiliated with Edward Jones, where he managed nearly $330 million in client assets.

In in the wealth industry since 2002, Anderson previously served for 21 years serving as an Army officer. Anderson holds both Certified Financial PlannerTM and Accredited Asset Management SpecialistTM professional designations. He earned a bachelor’s degree in engineering from the United States Military Academy at West Point, a master’s degree in space operations from the Air Force Institute of Technology and a master’s degree in business information systems from the University of Alabama.

Bryan Cave Leighton Paisner
International law firm Bryan Cave Leighton Paisner has appointed Rob Crea as a partner, resident in its San Francisco office. He will work within the corporate transactions practice as the firm’s new US head of fund formation.

Crea has experience of the private funds arena, with asset class areas including real estate, venture capital, private equity and hedge funds. He regularly counsels investment advisors, private fund managers, broker-dealers, pension plans and other institutional investors on fund formation, product structuring, regulatory and compliance, performance presentation and securities law matters. 

Crea has knowledge about state and federal regulatory and compliance issues affecting private fund sponsors including, particularly, the Investment Advisers Act of 1940, as amended, and the Investment Company Act of 1940, as amended.

In addition to his private funds work, Crea often guides venture investors and pre-IPO companies on general corporate matters, financings, and mergers and acquisitions. Since 2016, he has counseled clients and been a frequent author and public speaker on securities law matters affecting digital asset offerings and the digital assets industry.
