St James’s Place Wealth Management Asia, part of UK-listed
St
James’s Place, has appointed Chris Gill as development
director to the international business. In his new role, Gill
will oversee proposition development.
Gill brings over a decade of international experience having previously held senior wealth management roles in Hong Kong and Singapore, including managing director of Friends Provident International (Singapore Branch) as well as serving as the deputy president of the Life Insurance Association in Singapore.
The wealth management firm shrugged off controversy about the alleged charging practices of some of its advisors by reporting a sharp rise in net inflows of funds under management for the first six months of 2017. Flows into St James’s Place rose to £4.3 billion ($5.65 billion) from £3.1 billion in H1, 2016.
In the case of Gill’s erstwhile employer, FPI, it has been recently sold by its UK-listed parent, Aviva.
