Goodwin
Global law firm Goodwin has appointed partners
Douglas Freeman and Victor Chen to its international private
equity practice in the Hong Kong office.
The duo have worked together for many years, Goodwin said. Freeman and Chen have developed an Asia-focused practice guiding private equity firms, investment banking firms, venture capital and institutional investors in connection with public and private M&A, securities offerings, financings, PIPEs and auctions in various industries.
“Goodwin’s Hong Kong private equity platform is a vital part of the firm’s international offering that is truly full-service, covering the entire life cycle of clients’ investments – from fund formation to investments and exits,” Yash Rana, chair of Goodwin’s Hong Kong office, said.
Freeman’s practice focuses on representing public and private companies, private equity firms and investment banking firms in connection with M&A, public offerings and corporate transactions. He has particular experience in advising on cross-border M&A, reorganizations, leveraged buyouts, listed company transactions, and hostile or contested control transactions. He has also acted on a number of going-private transactions involving China-based companies listed in the US.
Chen represents private equity sponsors, multinational corporations and institutional investors in their M&A transactions and investments, with a focus on Asia cross-border deals. He has extensive experience in advising private equity, venture and institutional investors in their Greater China and U.S. transactions, and has also been active in going-private deals.
