The latest moves and appointments in the Asia-Pacific wealth management sector.
Private equity firm Gaw Capital Partners has appointed Oliver Yates as head of Australia. Yates is a veteran senior executive of Macquarie Group and chief executive of Clean Energy Finance Corp.
Yates, who has experience in financial markets, climate tech and clean energy investment, led the establishment of the CEFC in 2012. He has also served in senior roles at Macquarie, such as executive director of Macquarie Bank, US country head, among others.
Gaw focuses on real estate markets in Asia-Pacific, among others. The firm's investments include residential development, offices, retail malls, serviced apartments, hotels, logistics warehouses, and others. Since 2002, Gaw has raised seven commingled funds targeting the APAC region since 2005. It also manages value-add/opportunistic funds in the US, a Pan-Asia hospitality fund, a European hospitality fund, a growth equity fund and it provides services for credit investments and separate account direct investments globally.
