Who’s Moving Where In Wealth Management? – FNZ, Prudential Hong Kong

The latest senior moves, appointments and personnel changes in the Asia-Pacific wealth management sector.

FNZ, a global wealth management platform, has appointed Peter Hiom as group head of Asia-Pacific, in addition to his role as group head of markets. Based in Sydney in Australia, he will lead strategic direction, client delivery and growth across APAC, while continuing to lead FNZ’s strategy to provide technology and dealing services across capital markets, the firm said in a statement.

Hiom has experience in global capital markets and market infrastructure. Before FNZ, he served as deputy CEO at ASX, leading primary and secondary markets, clearing and settlement, data and technical services. Earlier in his career, he held business development and technology positions at the London International Financial Futures Exchange and the Sydney Futures Exchange. He is replacing Anthony Habis, who has been appointed as group head of North America.

“Asia-Pacific is a critical region for FNZ and a major growth market for our clients. I’m looking forward to building on our progress in the region while continuing to strengthen FNZ’s markets capability across the global capital markets value chain," Hiom said.

An industry veteran with more than 30 years of experience, Wong has led multi-disciplinary technology teams in Hong Kong and across Asia. He joins from Chubb Life, where he served as chief information officer for Hong Kong. Previously, he served in senior leadership roles at Sun Life and AXA. Throughout his career, Wong has overseen technology initiatives spanning AI and cyber governance, application architecture, distribution platforms, and enterprise modernisation, while consistently driving stability and efficiency in technology infrastructure to support business growth.

“Alex is a seasoned leader with a proven track record in steering digital transformation and innovation within the insurance sector,” Lam said. “His extensive experience in transforming technology platforms and building scalable digital architecture will be critical to our ambition to lead the market in delivering simpler, faster and more personalised experience to our customers and financial consultants alike.”
