Financial consultancy deVere Group, which focuses much of its attention on groups such as expat Britons, says it will expand into the Australia market by opening a new office in the country.

Financial consultancy deVere Group, which focuses much of its attention on groups such as expat Britons, says it will expand into the Australia market by opening a new office in the country.

The office will be in Melbourne, the firm said in a statement. It says it is estimated that the number of UK expats in Australia is expected to reach 1.3 million.

The firm says it plans to open other offices in Sydney, Canberra, Adelaide, Perth and Brisbane. “We believe that Australia could be our biggest market yet,” it said.

deVere recently acquired Meridian Financial, an Australia-regulated financial services firm.
