JP Morgan AM Names New Singapore, Southeast Asia Chief

last week appointed a new head of Singapore and Southeast Asia, Sherene Ban. She replaces Stephen Billet, who left the firm in February.
Ban will be responsible for the distribution strategy for the firm’s institutional and retail clients in the region. This will include oversight of sales and client services and the firm’s Singapore and Southeast Asia-based team of client-facing staff.
Ban, who is based in Singapore, will report to Dan Watkins, Asia-Pacific chief executive, JP Morgan Asset Management.
A native Singaporean, Ban was most recently based in London for JPM AM. Prior to her new role, she was head of the global beta investment specialist team in the firm’s global asset management solutions team. Before that, she worked for 11 years in various roles across EMEA and Asia-Pacific, including co-heading the firm’s investment specialist team for emerging markets and Asia-Pacific equities.
