has launched a new programme in the Asia-Pacific region to boost the number of women represented in the ranks of analysts for investment banking, markets and securities services. The US bank is working on its summer hiring schedule.
The lender told this publication that it intends to expand the programme to other parts of its business in due course. It was asked if private banking will be part of the mix.
The new Early ID Women’s Leadership Program is a five-week scheme which enables Citigroup to “identify and engage high-potential female talent early by providing training, mentorship, as well as networking opportunities”, Citigroup said in a statement yesterday.
When the programme is completed, candidates can be interviewed for a place in Citigroup’s 2022 IB or MSS Summer Analyst programme. Those who are selected will have secured early places in these programmes, before summer analyst hiring kicks off in September this year for 2022 programmes. It said.
The inaugural Early ID programme in Asia began in mid-April and wraps up this week. Some 50 female candidates were selected from more than 1,200 applicants.
