Citigroup
Citi Vietnam, part of , has appointed Thai Nguyet Minh as markets head and country treasurer, reporting to Sue Lee, head of markets for Asia South.

Thai Nguyet Minh brings nearly two decades of experience in Vietnam markets to Citigroup, specifically advising clients, foreign exchange, and derivatives. She has served in leadership roles across various financial institutions, most recently at Maybank as head of global markets Vietnam and BNP Paribas where she was head of global macro sales.

“Citi is well-positioned to capture the significant growth opportunities within Vietnam's dynamic markets franchise, an important part of our strategy within ASEAN,” Lee said in a statement.

In December last year, the US bank appointed Minh Ngo as Citi country officer and banking head (CCOBH) for Vietnam as well as general director of the bank’s Ho Chi Minh City Branch.

The appointments come at a time when the Southeast Asian country's economic performance has risen to emerging market status, along with the rise of an affluent middle class which has piqued the interest of wealth managers and private banks. Banks, which are adding to teams that include Vietnam coverage include HSBC, for example, and Switzerland's Bordier & Cie.
