First State Investments Makes Splash Of Hires In North Asia

The firm is seeking to enhance its distribution capabilities with its latest hires.
First State Investments has appointed two executives in North Asia in a bid to strengthen its distribution team and capabilities, it said earlier this week.
Gladys Chan joins as director of private bank distribution for North Asia, while Bonnie Chun has been named associate director of intermediary business.
Chan reports to Vivian Tang, head of distribution for North Asia. Chun reports to Alex Tam, director of intermediary business.
Chan is responsible for building new and strengthening existing relationships, as well as aligning investment solutions and client servicing with private banks in the region.
She joined from Deutsche Asset Management, where she most recently served as vice president and head of retail Hong Kong. In this role, she focused on private bank distribution.
In total, Chan has more than 15 years' experience.
Chun will work with the firm's distribution team to promote First State's comprehensive investment portfolio, strengthen existing relationships and expand its intermediary channels in the region.
Prior to joining First State, she worked as a senior sales manager at Invesco Asset Management.
