Robo Advisor Talks Chinese As New Year Beckons

A Singapore-based robo advisor developed by Crossbridge Capital will is being made available in Simplified Chinese, a move the firm hopes will significantly widen its appeal.
Independent wealth advisory firm Crossbridge Capital is gearing up the Chinese New Year by making its Singapore-based robo advisor arm available to clients in Simplified Chinese, which the firm says is a first development of its kind in the industry.
The CONNECT by Crossbridge platform originally came to market in November 2016, saying it has scored a number of firsts: as the initial robo-advisor to launch in Singapore and the first to introduce digital on-boarding for accredited investors and the first to introduce Cash Plus™ Certificates denominated in Singapore dollars.
Customers can go to the website directly or opt for the simplified Chinese version from the English language CONNECT by Crossbridge site. The website gives Mandarin-speaking customers the ability to transact and manage portfolios in Simplified Chinese.
CONNECT by Crossbridge was developed in collaboration with Morningstar, Pershing (a BNY Mellon Company), Julius Baer and Bambu. Because it has Pershing, a US-regulated firm as custodian, the platform can be used by US expats. As for Crossbridge Capital itself, the firm was launched 10 years ago, and operates from London, Singapore, Malta and Monaco, now employing 34 staff.
