S3 Investment Appoints MD for China-Focused PE Fund
S3 Investment Company, an investment management firm that assists Chinese companies in accessing the North American market, has appointed Richard Chiang as a managing director for its subsidiary Redwood Asia Fund.
Chiang joins from Bear Stearns & Co, where he was an associate director managing over $600 million in client assets. Prior to that he was a senior vice president at Roth Capital Partners and a vice president at Wedbush Morgan Securities. In a statement, the company said that the fund was formed to facilitate faster capital response to the financing needs of Redwood Capital clients and greater participation in clients' growth.
Redwood Asia Fund is focused primarily on the greater China region, including Mongolia. The fund plans to engage high growth, small and medium firms for investment and will allow its parent firm to expand financing activities toward projects that promise higher return.
