The new appointee will be based in Tokyo.

AXA Investment Managers has appointed Yoshihiko Hayafuji as head of Japan for its real assets division, according to media reports.

Hayafuji reportedly has more than 15 years' experience in the Japanese real estate and corporate finance sectors and has worked at Aetos Japan on its valuation team, where he oversaw real estate valuation for the fund's acquisitions. He began his career in financial services with Nomura Real Estate.

In his new role, he will report to Frank Khoo, the French firm's global head of Asia, and will be based in Tokyo.

“Yoshihiko is a well-respected real estate professional with an in-depth working knowledge of the Japanese market, built up during his time working at several of Japan’s most respected companies,” Khoo reportedly said.

AXA Investment Managers had not confirmed the appointment at the time of publication.
