SuMi TRUST
Asset manager SuMi TRUST has
appointed Katsutoshi Inadome as senior strategist. Inadome will
be based in the firm’s Tokyo headquarters where he will work
alongside chief strategist Hiroyuki Ueno, the firm said.
In his new role, effective on 1 February, Inadome is responsible for market analysis and research, with a particular focus on interest rates, currencies and fixed income markets.
Inadome, who has 18 years’ experience in the fixed income space, was previously a bond strategist at Mitsubishi UFJ Morgan Stanley Securities, where he was responsible for developing fixed income portfolio management strategies.
Introducing him, Ueno said: “I am delighted to welcome Katsutoshi, who has a wealth of experience as a fixed income strategist, to [bring to] the team. His appointment further enhances our market analysis capabilities in fixed income and currency markets.
“With a possible pivot by the US Federal Reserve and amendments to monetary policy by the Bank of Japan on the horizon, Katsutoshi’s experience as a fixed income strategist sets him in good stead to strengthen the team and to enhance our client services. We are confident Katsutoshi will be a major asset going forwards.”
Inadome said: “I am excited to join the team at SuMi TRUST, one of the largest asset managers in Japan with a strong reputation among global investors. During a turbulent time for monetary policies as major central banks shape the global market, I look forward to contributing to analysis of fixed income and currency markets for our clients and portfolio managers.”
SuMi TRUST, with AuM of $624 billion as of end February 2023, provides its global client base with a wide variety of equity products, ranging from highly-concentrated active and sustainability strategies focusing on Japanese, Asian and global stocks to tailored passive investment solutions.
