RBC Wealth Management Names Asia Head

The new head had been in the post ad interim since August this year following a predecessor's departure from the Canadian firm.
RBC Wealth Management, has appointed Rod Ireland as head of wealth management for Asia, adding to his existing job as head of APAC global markets.
Ireland was appointed interim head of wealth management for Asia in August, filling a spot left by Terence Chow who – as reported here – left the Canadian bank.
Joining RBC in 1998, Ireland was appointed head of the Australian business in 2013. He relocated to Asia in 2017 to lead RBC’s global markets business in APAC.
RBC Wealth Management Asia has booking centres in Hong Kong and Singapore, a representative office in Beijing and an operations hub in Malaysia, focused on clients in eight strategic locations in the region: Hong Kong, mainland China, Taiwan, Singapore, Thailand, Indonesia, Malaysia, and the Philippines.
