The former Credit Suisse senior figure will be taking on a role that will involve overseeing the structured lending and private wealth businesses of the Japanese firm.
Stoehr will be joining after having a 25-year career at Credit Suisse. He was most recently managing director, CEO – Greater China, and chairman of Credit Suisse (HK) Ltd and Credit Suisse Securities (HK) Ltd.
The new role will involve Stoehr overseeing the structured lending and private wealth businesses across the region. Based in Singapore, Stoehr will report to the co-heads of Asia-Pacific, SMBC.
In a financial services career spanning more than three decades, Stoehr has worked in London, Tokyo and Hong Kong. He had a stint at Standard Chartered where he was global head of capital markets and financial market sales.
