Cantonal Swiss Bank To Reshuffle Board Next Year

Swiss-headquartered St Galler Kantonalbank has announced that its board of directors will propose Claudia Gietz Viehweger and Hans Wey for election when it holds its annual meeting on 30 April next year.

Swiss-headquartered St Galler Kantonalbank has announced that its board of directors will
propose Claudia Gietz Viehweger and Hans Wey for election when it holds its
annual meeting on 30 April next year.

Because of statutory term limits, Claudia
Zogg-Wetter will leave the board, the company said in a statement.

In 1998, Gietz Viehweger joined the family
business, Gietz, as a representative of the fifth
generation. Since 2001, she has been member of the management board and
chairwoman of the board of directors.

From 1998 to 2008, Wey headed the sector of
the audit of financial services for PwC in Switzerland. From 2008 until his
retirement on 30 June 2012, he was chairman of the board of directors of PwC
after working with the firm for about 35 years.  Because of his deciding function at PwC, which
has been mandated as an external auditor of SGKB since 1995, Wey may –
according to the Swiss law – take no mandate for SGKB for two years. For this
reason, he is proposed for election to the AGM by appointment as of 1 July 2014, the
bank added.
