Singapore-based DBS has
appointed a new non-executive director to join the boards of DBSH
and DBS Bank: Chng Kai Fong will join the boards on 31 March.
In addition to serving on DBS’ main boards, Chng will also serve as a member of their audit committees and nominating committees, the bank said.
The appointment is part of DBS’ board renewal process which will also see three long-serving directors, Euleen Goh, Ow Foong Pheng and Andre Sekulic, stepping down as board members on 30 March.
As a senior civil servant, Chng who is the managing director of the Singapore Economic Development Board (EDB), has been in the post since October 2017. Prior to joining EDB, he was the principal private secretary to the Prime Minister of Singapore.
Chng also sits on the boards of EDB Investments Pte, EDBI Pte, Manakin Investments Pte, Singapore Israel Industrial Research and Development Foundation (SIIRD), Singapore Symphonia Company Limited, and the Agency for Science, Technology and Research (A*STAR). In addition, he is an advisory board member of the Singapore Management University’s Lee Kong Chian School of Business, the Shell Gas & Power Development’s New Energies Advisory Board, and a member of the board of trustees of Singapore University of Technology and Design.
